Page 439 - June 4, 2013

Ah, chapter almost over, tomorrow is the last page. And speaking of last page: I finished the absolute last page of aRTD 10 hours ago, 1 o'clock in the morning of June 4th, 2013. I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to wrap up the story in a satisfactory fashion, but I'm quite pleased with the last few pages, and I think most of you will be too. Here's a completely illegible detail preview from the last page to tease everyone with:

So...what now? Is what I assume many of you are wondering. Well, the comic ended up being exactly 550 pages long, which means I now have a buffer of 110 pages left (minus a couple of chapter cover pages, I always draw those once they're needed), and that gives us about 4 months of regular aRTD updates. And basically what I'm going to use these months for is to draw the prologue of SSSS so that I can start publishing that right after aRTD is over. The pages are going to take me way longer to draw than the pages for aRTD both because I want them to look much cleaner and better all around, but also because I'm going to draw them all digitally and I'm still very slow at drawing linearts in Photoshop. But I can't get faster unless I start working on those skills.

This first month I'm just going to use on writing an actual, tight script for the first part of SSSS before I start drawing, and do some final research and drawing studies that I need. Oh, and take care of some pressing non-comic business in my life. That'll leave me with 3 months to do the actual comic drawing, which is one less than I had hoped to have, but I can adjust.

Oh, and I guess I should start looking into making that possible aRTD book and the crowdfunding thing that's necessary to make it happen. But I'll have to let some of those real-life matters pass first before I stress myself out with that. We'll see in a couple of months. :3
